This is Ellis Island, where it all began for immigrants migrating from all parts of Europe to Manhattan in order to live the American dream. This photo was taken on my son's 3rd grade class trip. I saw him and his best friend sitting in the window, and as soon as I saw the window, and the striking reflection, I knew it was something I had to capture.My son was there because my family migrated through Ellis Island, and this shot wouldn’t have been possible had it not been for this beautiful building. We were among the lucky ones.
